Directly imported from Georgia, our ever-experimental winemaker, Corinne, took two kvevris in 2015 and buried them in the yard. For the first year, she took whole bunches of Pinot Blanc and let it ferment on the skins over the winter months.
A typically elegant grape, the added tannins from extended maceration only enhances Pinot Blanc's beauty with soft oxidative notes and a silky mouthfeel. This is one of the few orange wine Pinot Blancs we've experienced.
Founded in 1977, this family-run winery located in the beautiful town of Remich is perhaps one of the most innovative producers in all of Luxembourg. Using Georgian kvevri, Luxembourgish oak, and experimenting with grape varieties in need of reinvention, they're paving their own path in the region.
A favorite for Pinot Blanc is an aged Gouda, but this would also do well with apetizers and cooked fish.
