Outside of Hasselt in Belgium, two brothers realized that the land behind their family's home was the ideal location for vineyards. Particularly passionate about sparkling wines, Wilfred and Robrecht Schorpion started planting vines along the sunny slope in 1994.

At a surprising high elevation for the region, they now grow Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Riesling, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, and Auxerrois. All the wines are made in the traditional method with 2 fermentations and spend a significant amount of time on the lees.

One of the great secret's behind the Schorpion sparkling wines is the amount of care and time they put into each bottle. The pinnacle is their handmade, coquard basket press. A sign of quality, this press allows for less contact between juice and grape skins, resulting in a more delicate fruit characteristics. Yum!
