Wine production in Luxembourg has historically been dominated by a handful of large winemaking cooperatives that source grapes from a network of smaller independent growers.

The Vesque family, one of the oldest grape suppliers in Luxembourg, once operated within this business model.

However, with the construction of a new winery in 1995, head winemaker Jonny Vesque of Domaine Cep d’Or stopped selling grapes by the ton and adopted the unofficial motto of quality over quantity.

Today, the reputable estate is one of only fifty or so family-owned producers in the country.
